Our Story

In the heart of north Williamsburg just steps from both Metropolitan and Bedford Aves, Pinkerton offers a chill, low-key alternative to the mob scenes at other bars and restaurants in the area. At 13 years, we’ve become one of Williamsburg's original old school wine destinations. With a wide selection of natural and traditional wines, including pet nats and orange wines, Pinkerton is a great spot to be adventurous or just learn more about wine.

In the summer we have one of Brooklyn's nicest outdoor spaces, a large sidewalk patio that fronts the corner. In colder months enjoy our old school Italian granny chic interior, a cozy and inviting space to spend time with friends. We also have an exceptional raw bar with oysters, shrimp, and crab, artisanal cheese and charcuteries, and delicious house-made comfort food items such as meatballs and ricotta dip.

At Pinkerton it's all about the wine, and we spend as much time as we can tracking down the best examples we can for your enjoyment. Rose pet nat? Check. Several orange wines to choose from, both aggressive and friendly? Check. Tasty natural wines that present varying levels of "funk"? Check. And of course we love traditional styles at Pinkerton, anything from Bordeaux and Beaujolais to Rioja and Napa-- we will go anywhere in the world for great wine. We are even one of the few places to offer a fantastic Barolo by the glass. Don't forget to try our chilled red, a huge seller in the summer. Our music tastes match our wine: a combination of the latest in alternative rock and the classics. We are a little bit punk and a little bit rock and roll!
